We can breathe a sign of relief: the Antwerp brewery De Koninck has decided to remain independent and not seek a takeover with either Heineken or Duvel Moortgat. This news comes from Ben Vinken, the distinguished Belgian beer and food writer and lecturer.

Good news - let's hope they now display more of a sense of direction that has been the case in recent years.
Brewing some decent beer might help too. De Koninck is dreadful muck.
